1. Introduction
Welcome to IJEM. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form an agreement between you and IJEM regarding use of our platform that connects riders requesting transportation with independent drivers who choose to provide trips.
By creating an account or using IJEM services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally able to enter a binding agreement under applicable Nigerian law and meet any age or licensing requirements relevant to your use of the platform (including driver licensing where you provide transportation services).
3. Account Registration
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and notify us promptly of unauthorised account use. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
4. Rider Responsibilities
- Provide accurate pickup and destination details
- Be ready at the agreed pickup point within a reasonable time
- Treat drivers and their vehicles with respect
- Pay applicable fares, fees and lawful charges
- Follow applicable laws while using the service
5. Driver Responsibilities
- Hold valid licences, permits and insurance as required
- Maintain a safe, roadworthy vehicle suitable for passenger service
- Provide courteous service and follow traffic and safety laws
- Keep account and document information current for verification
- Use the platform only when authorised to drive and online
6. Ride Requests
Submitting a request does not guarantee that a driver will accept. ETAs, routes and availability are estimates and may change based on traffic, demand, device connectivity and other factors outside our control.
7. Fares and Payments
Fares may be calculated using distance, time, demand-based adjustments, tolls, wait time or other factors shown in the app. Riders are responsible for paying the final amount due for completed trips and any applicable cancellation fees. Drivers are paid according to applicable payout rules and schedules.
8. Cancellations
Riders or drivers may cancel trips subject to in-app rules. Cancellation fees may apply where a request is cancelled after acceptance or when a party is unreasonably delayed or unavailable.
9. Ratings and Reviews
Ratings help maintain service quality. Feedback should be honest and not abusive, discriminatory or unlawful. IJEM may remove content that violates these Terms or community standards.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use IJEM for unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purposes
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against other users
- Interfere with platform security or reverse engineer the apps
- Create fake accounts or manipulate ratings, trips or payments
- Transport prohibited or unsafe goods when using a trip
11. Safety
Safety features such as verification, trip sharing and support tools are provided to help users make informed choices. Users remain responsible for their conduct during trips. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
12. Third-Party Services
IJEM may integrate maps, payments, messaging, analytics or cloud providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to the third party's terms. IJEM is not responsible for third-party services beyond our reasonable control.
13. Intellectual Property
IJEM branding, software, website content and related materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify or distribute platform materials without permission.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IJEM is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill arising from your use of the platform. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law.
15. Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. IJEM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, specific pickup times, or that every request will be fulfilled. Transportation services are provided by independent drivers, not as employees of IJEM, unless a different relationship is expressly stated in writing.
16. Account Suspension
We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these Terms, applicable law or safety standards have been violated, or where needed to protect users or the platform.
17. Termination
You may stop using IJEM at any time. We may terminate or discontinue access to all or part of the services subject to applicable law and any continuing obligations such as unpaid amounts or unresolved disputes.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of IJEM after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Nigeria shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections.
